Structural Repair

Structural Repair in Miami,
Measured, Not Guessed.

Frame and unibody damage pulled back to factory specification before a single panel goes back on. Free estimates, most insurance accepted.

What This Covers

Structural Repair,
Back to Specification.

Structural damage is the part of a collision you cannot see from the driveway. Modern vehicles are built as a unibody, where the floor, rails and pillars work together as one structure, so a hit to a corner can move something two feet away from the point of impact. A door that no longer shuts cleanly, a gap that runs wide at one end, or a car that tracks slightly sideways are all signs that the structure moved, not just the panel.

That is why the work starts with measurement rather than opinion. The vehicle is stripped back far enough to reach the structure, then measured against the manufacturer's published dimensions. Those numbers decide the repair. Pulling continues until the structure reads within specification, not until it looks straight, because a panel can be made to fit a structure that is still out.

Engine and subframe removed to reach structural damage behind the front end

Some damage is repaired by pulling, some by sectioning at a manufacturer-approved location, and some by replacing the assembly outright. Which one applies is a decision the measurements make, and we will tell you plainly which it is and why. If the structural damage is severe enough that a repair stops making economic sense, you deserve to hear that early rather than after weeks in the shop.

Once the structure reads correctly, panel fit becomes straightforward and the finish work has something true to sit on. That order matters. Refinishing a panel bolted to a structure that is still out of specification produces a car that looks correct in photographs and drives wrong.

How We Do It

Structural Repair,
Step by Step.

1
Free Estimate and Documentation We inspect the vehicle, document every point of damage, and give you a no-obligation estimate before anything is scheduled.
2
Teardown to the Structure Trim, panels, glass and mechanical components come off until the structure is exposed. Hidden damage behind a bumper or fender is normal after a real impact.
3
Measure Against Factory Specification The structure is measured against the manufacturer's published dimensions so the repair is driven by numbers rather than by eye.
4
Pull, Section or Replace Damage is pulled back into specification, sectioned at an approved location, or the assembly is replaced, depending on what the measurements show.
5
Re-measure and Verify The structure is measured again after the work. It is not finished until it reads within specification.
6
Panel Fit and Refinishing Panels are fitted to a structure that is already true, then refinished with the Spies Hecker paint line and colour matched to the rest of the car.
7
Alignment and Road Check A four-wheel alignment follows the structural work, because moving the structure moves the suspension geometry with it.

Related Repairs

Structural work is usually one part of a larger Collision Repair, and the finish that follows is covered on our Auto Paint & Scratch Repair page. Because moving the structure moves the suspension with it, this work is normally followed by Mechanical, Suspension and Alignment, and on a vehicle with driver assistance systems, by ADAS Calibration.

Common Questions

Structural Repair,
Answered.

Is a car safe to drive after structural repair?

It is when the structure has been measured back to factory specification and verified after the work, which is how we do it. The measurements are the whole point. A structure that reads within specification is doing the job the manufacturer designed it to do in the next collision.

Will my car be declared a total loss?

That is the insurer's decision, based on repair cost against the vehicle's value, not on the word structural. Plenty of structural damage is economically repairable. We document what we find and give the insurer the real numbers, and we will tell you early if the repair is heading toward a total loss.

How do I know if the frame is actually bent?

You often cannot tell by looking, which is why we measure rather than guess. Doors that no longer shut cleanly, uneven panel gaps, or a car that tracks slightly sideways are common signs, but the measurement is what settles it. Bring it in and the estimate is free.
