A collision moves more than sheet metal. The same impact that creased a fender can bend a control arm, shift a strut, or move a subframe by a few millimetres, and a few millimetres is enough to change how the car tracks. This is the part of a repair a customer notices weeks later: the steering wheel sits off centre on a straight road, the car pulls to one side, or the front tyres wear on one edge.
So the mechanical side is part of the repair rather than an upsell after it. Suspension and steering components are inspected once the structure is back to specification, damaged parts are replaced, and the vehicle gets a four-wheel alignment measured against the manufacturer's figures for camber, caster and toe.
The order matters here. An alignment performed before structural work is finished measures a car that is about to change shape, so it tells you very little. The alignment comes last, after the structure reads true and the suspension components are sound, and it is checked rather than assumed.
If your car pulls, wanders, or wears tyres unevenly after a repair somewhere else, that is worth having looked at. Those symptoms usually trace back to geometry that was never corrected, and they get more expensive the longer they run, because tyres and bushings pay for it.

Why does my car pull to one side after an accident?
Usually because the suspension geometry moved. An impact can bend a control arm or shift a subframe by a small amount that never shows on the outside of the car, and that is enough to change how it tracks. It is measurable, so bring it in and we can tell you what the numbers say.
Do I really need an alignment after bodywork?
If the repair touched the structure or any suspension component, yes. Panel work on its own does not move the geometry, but structural work always does. We check rather than assume, and we will tell you if it does not need one.
Do you do mechanical work that is not related to a collision?
Our mechanical and suspension work is built around collision and structural repair, which is where most of it comes from. If you have something outside that, call the shop and ask. We would rather tell you honestly whether it is work we take on than have you drop the car off and find out.
